D. Zachary Champ is Director, Government Affairs for the Wireless Infrastructure Association (“WIA”) where he coordinates and executes the association’s government relations activities with local governments, state legislatures, Congress, the FCC and other federal agencies. WIA strives to achieve reasonable wireless facility siting solutions across the country in order to facilitate the delivery of the wireless services that users demand.
Zac received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut, an M.P.A. from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. Prior to joining PCIA, Zac worked as a manager and counsel at leading technology focused trade association concentrating on issues related to federal procurement of information technology systems, smart grid and cloud computing. Zac has experience in the state general assembly of Connecticut, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Zac served as Editor-in-Chief for the Syracuse Journal of Science and Technology Law and president of the Syracuse University Communications Law and Policy Society. Zac is a member of the University of Connecticut Alumni Association, D.C. Chapter Board and an active member of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
